Meet Canada at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Mifa Market from June 14 to 19, 2021!

The Mifa Market is the animation industry’s leading showcase for the coproduction, sales, distribution and financing of animated content on all broadcasting platforms. Because this year edition will be a hybrid virtual and in-person event, Canada returns to the Marketplace with its Virtual Pavilion! Stay tuned for the official list of Canadian representatives attending Canada’s Virtual Pavilion from June 15 to 18, 2021, in partnership with Telefilm Canada and Ontario Creates.

The Mifa Pitches take place during the Market, and feature the best in original animation projects in their first phase of development. Projects chosen for the Mifa Pitches are presented in front of industry professionals and audiences for a chance to obtain financing and win prizes! Canada-Iran coproduction The Dragon’s Treasure was chosen to partake in the Mifa Pitches, in the feature film category!

Like the Mifa Market, the Annecy International Animation Festival’s 45th edition is a hybrid virtual and in-person event! Its world-renowned competition showcases the best of the best in animation, ranging from children’s programs to virtual reality pieces. This year, 12 Canadian productions, ranging from features, shorts and a VR piece, were chosen to be part of Annecy’s official competition selection. Check out the first round of selections here!

Keep your eyes peeled for more Annecy 2021 and Mifa Market updates!
