Through Telefilm&#8217;s Export Assistance Program, distribution companies operating abroad can receive up to $90,000 towards the marketing of their film.<\/h3><p>Intrigued? We\u2019ve got some fast, easy answers to your questions about this program, which aims to bring Canadian cinema, talent, and content international success and recognition.<\/p><p><strong>1) You\u2019ve acquired the exploitation rights to a great Canadian film! Is your film eligible to apply for this promotional funding?<\/strong><\/p><p>Here\u2019s a quick pop quiz. To qualify for Telefilm&#8217;s Export Assistance Program, your Canadian production(s) must be:<\/p><p>a) Market-ready<br \/>b) Features with a budget of less than or equal to $2.5M<br \/>c) Features that received production assistance from Telefilm Canada<br \/>d) All of the above<\/p><p>The answer&#8211;as you probably guessed&#8211;is all of the above! <a href=\"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/en\/financing\/export\">(List of this year\u2019s qualified projects)<\/a><\/p><p><strong>2) Precisely which costs can this financial support cover?<\/strong><\/p><p>If your project is accepted, Telefilm\u2019s contribution is meant exclusively for theatrical release and related promotional costs, which might include airfare for director and lead actors, subtitling, and other advertising and marketing costs. In other words, the promotional campaign for the theatrical release of the qualified productions. <a href=\"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/en\/financing\/export\">(List of eligible costs)<\/a><\/p><p><strong>3) Let\u2019s talk territories. To be eligible, exactly where in the world must you hold the qualified film\u2019s exploitation rights (which need to include theatrical release rights)?<\/strong><\/p><p>That\u2019s an easy one!
